The Athenaeum Club, in Liverpool, was founded in 1797 “to provide a meeting place where ideas and information could be exchanged”. It continues to occupy that role in the present day, and I am delighted to have been invited to talk to the club’s Literature Group on 2 June, about the writing of Valediction Records.
